Our Programs
“Education For A Sustainable Future”, is the founding principle upon which the Diaspora Institute was formed. Our current programs focus on educating and mentoring our youth in the middle and high school years.
Speech & Debate Summer Camp
The Speech and Debate Academy hosts a Day Camp instructing campers in Public Speaking, Interpretation and Presentation, Debate Theory, Argumentation, Research and Construction of Speeches and the Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglass debate formats.
Middle School Speech & Debate Program
Debate is essential to the progress and evolution of any society. The ability to be an effective orator is not in itself innate, thus the earlier we can appreciate the value of research, learning, formulating an opinion or argument and expressing our thoughts publicly and professionally the better we are able to participate in developing the society in which we wish to live.
The Diaspora Debates
The Diaspora Debates are a series of classes and debates in which students learn the essential foundations of debate theory and compete against other debaters in local and national tournaments, while using current local, national, and international issues as a platform for discussion. You can find our champions on the local circuit as well as the national stage.
