The Diaspora Institute

MISSION: To provide educational support for the sustainable development of at risk communities.

The organization is constituted exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes as described under IRC § 501(c)(3).

OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES:
To Educate Communities in the 5 key areas of Financial Health, Emotional Health, Mental Health, Social Responsibility, and Literacy.

Financial Health: To Provide education on financial issues. Focus is on management, responsibility and maintenance.

Emotional Health: To Provide education for emotional health and development. Focus is on mentor/mentee programs which provide emotional guidance, support and stability.

Mental Health: To Provide education on mental health. Focus is on the psychological effects of various deficiencies within the community and the rehabilitation from those effects.

Social Responsibility: To Educate about the co-existence of the individual and the community, the dependency of each on the other and the relationships required for sustainable development. Focus will promote “negative stances” which require forbearance of negative actions, and “proactive stances” which require action for the betterment of all.

Literacy: To Promote literacy for every community member. Focus will be on the importance of education, higher education, educational opportunity and the necessities to attain such.
